Key Skills That Make It Work
Whirlwind
Whirlwind is your main attack skill. With a fast weapon and lots of attack rating, it allows you to zip through mobs while dealing constant AoE damage. Pair it with high MF gear, and you're a loot tornado.
Find Item (aka "Hork")
This is the secret weapon of every MF Barb. After clearing elite packs, you can cast Find Item on corpses to potentially get a second drop. That’s double the loot from every boss, every champion pack, and every minion group.
Battle Orders & Shout
Battle Orders increases your life and mana — mandatory for survival. Shout adds massive defense, making you hard to hit, especially when dual-wielding. These buffs are why the Barb can comfortably farm even without god-tier gear.
My Gear Setup (High MF + Efficiency)
Balancing Magic Find with survivability and kill speed is an art. Here’s the gear I used to reach 450%+ MF while still melting monsters:
- Helmet: Harlequin Crest (Shako) with Ist Rune
- Armor: Skullder’s Ire (Eth or socketed with Ist)

- Amulet: Highlord’s Wrath or MF Rare with resists
- Rings: Nagelring + Rare/MF ring
- Gloves: Chance Guards
- Belt: Goldwrap
- Boots: War Traveler
- Charms: Gheed’s Fortune + MF small charms

Best Farming Spots
To really make this build shine, you need to know where to farm. Here's where I struck gold — literally.
Travincal
The Council members in Travincal drop tons of runes and high-end uniques. And since they’re clustered together, Whirlwind wrecks them fast. Plus, you get double loot from Find Item!
Mephisto (Nightmare & Hell)
Mephisto is still one of the best sources for early and mid-game unique items. Once your gear is solid, you can clear him in under a minute. Teleport with Enigma or leap if you're budget-bound.
Pindleskin
Quick access, fast kills, and tons of drops. Add Horking, and you're getting 2x the loot almost every time. This was one of my biggest paydays during ladder reset.

After a few weeks of grinding, here’s what this build pulled in — all self-found using the MF Barb:

- Shako x3
- Stormshield, Arachnid Mesh, and multiple SoJs
- Griffon’s Eye from Mephisto (insane drop!)
